Composition is central to my photography. Through the considered use of the camera lens, light and shadow, I reinterpret the subjects I encounter, drawing attention to details, patterns and forms that might otherwise be overlooked. In architecture, I am particularly interested in the interplay between solid form and negative space, the way structures occupy their surroundings, and how light defines their lines, textures and dimensions.

Nature offers its own wealth of shapes, patterns and visual contrasts. Through my photography, I aim to emphasise these qualities, using composition and light to create images that are more dramatic, expressive and considered as works of art. Whether photographing architecture or the natural environment, my intention is to look beyond the obvious and reveal a new visual perspective on the world around me.

My wife, Melissa, and I have been fortunate to travel widely, from the American West to Europe, Iceland and Patagonia. In spring 2024, we left the Southern California desert of Rancho Mirage and made our home in the South Somerset countryside, near the ocean I have always loved. Here in England, we are delighted to be beginning a new chapter together.
