Iceland - The land of glaciers

The land of glaciers, icebergs, and volcanos. Iceland is a world of wonders. This series is of the southern coast from the Snæfellsjökull Peninsula, in the west to the Sólheimajökull glacier, Jökulsárlón bay and the Diamond Beach with its black sand and Diamond icebergs. When I was there the fog never quite lifted but it created a magical world of softened shapes and subtle drama .

At the glacier, the volcanoes have left their mark with layers of ash embedded in icebergs that slowly float towards the sea upon calm waters. At Diamond Beach the fog was thicker still, the diamond ice shapes are given extra dimension by the low grey light and the black sand of the beach.
