Over a span of 12 years I have travelled to the Pebble Beach Concours and photographed these incredible automobiles. I arrive before dawn and as the cars are being brought to the 18th fairway I wait for the light to arrive. It is almost always a cloudy morning with the marine layer drifting out to Monterey Bay, sometimes the marine layer is so thick you can't see down the fairway more than 100 feet. But the light is fantastic! It's like shooting with the world’s largest soft box, few people around, soft light accentuating the curves and details of these beautiful designs and all their curves and chrome. The designs from the 30's to the 50's had such luscious curves, beautiful chrome accents and a sense of class and style not seen since. The details of these cars are what captures my eye.
